Oasis have been forced to abandon their headline show at Heaton Park in Manchester after major technical difficulties.
The band left the stage during the opening songs while generator problems were fixed. Once fixed they returned to play a full live set and vowed to refund all 70,000 fans in attendance.
Oasis started thier set with the classic ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’ following on after support slots from Twisted Wheel, Reverend And THe Makers and Kasabian.
The song was stopped half way through due to sound problems. Oasis headed off stage to the sound off boos from the crowd.
Oasis returned 10 minutes later to play ‘Lyla’, but once more got cut short due to sound problems.
The problems where sorted in around 40 minutes and Oasis re-strated thier set with ‘The Shock of the Lightning’ and ‘Cigarettes and Alcohol’.
Liam Gallagher told the crowd “Really sorry about that, this is a free gig now. Everyone will get a refund.”
Noel then added “The curfew’s 11, but we’ll play till they kick us off. Keep your tickets and you’ll get you money back.”
